C.I.T. Baseball & Softball Association, Inc., an all-volunteer, non-profit organization, has provided community youth baseball since 1951. The organization started as the C.I.T. Little League, which was at that time associated with The Little League Organization.C.I.T., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, has provided community youth baseball since 1951.
The organization started as the C.I.T. Little League, which was associated with The Little League Organization of America. In that first year, there were four Little League teams with 60 players, ages 9 to 10. Most of the operating costs in those days were defrayed by team sponsorship's and local business contributions. The organization incorporated in 1966 after its merger with the existing community Pony, Colt and Prep League organization. In 1982, the organization expanded to include a girls’ softball program, and in 1995, it expanded again to provide a Super Tee instructional program for 5 and 6 year olds.
C.I.T. strives to provide a positive recreational experience for the youth of all our communities, ages 5 through 18.Today C.I.T. is funded entirely by contributions, fundraising, advertising, team sponsorships, and the support of it's participating families. The association operates through the volunteer efforts of its Board of Directors, managers, coaches, and general membership.
In Spring of 2000, C.I.T. celebrated the Grand
Opening of its five-field complex known as Meyer & Middleton Park located on Ewing Road in the Chartiers Valley of Crafton Borough. The 20-acre site was purchased in 1997 and improved through the efforts of volunteer laborers and generous donors. The complex is privately owned by the association.For over 60 years, C.I.T. has provided the youth from our communities with an exceptional recreation program that builds athletic skills and competitive spirit.
